O post mais sincero que já fiz. (Biggest truth that I ever posted about)

Porque parei de postar?

Why I stopped posting

The truth is, for a few months, I went through things that I do not have much of Reason because of the many things they were doing in my life! You know when you totally lose the urge to talk to anyone, and just want to stay in your corner by yourself.
This happened recently, and the worst ... that someone was I. I did not feel well even to hear my own voice.
And this happened at the time of these photos ....

This was the moment when I smiled harder. For inside I still did not know what I was feeling.
For you who are wondering what happened ... I fell on my bike and broke all the ligaments on my right shoulder (and yes, I'm right handed)
If you are thinking something like: Wait! But is not the arm that he uses to draw?
Imagine that I was asking the same question and many others that moments of pain made me think.

Como voltar a direção?

How to go back on the rail?

I'm not going to lie or be hypocritical to you. It was a real hell!
I know very well that this does not even compare to the thousands of problems that so many people face every day... I know very well why I accompany my girlfriend to hospitals (She is voluntary as a clown in hospitals.)
But that was awful to me in the same way.
There were 2 surgeries and 2 months of pain and immobilized arm.
I tried very hard to draw and paint, but god damn. It hurts a lot. And every day it hurts less, thank you. And when the physiotherapy was starting, there were news that would change everything for me.
A workshop that I paid for a long time would happen and I forgot. Taught by an artist, I am very fan named Marcelo Daldoce. (I recommend you search about his work).
Marcelo Daldoce
I went to the workshop against the will of the physiotherapist, as I was going to spend 2 full days standing painting watercolor on an easel observing living model.Damn it would not be the pain that would make me miss this chance.
Besides the incredible workshop was that weekend, I realized: I was willing to go through any pain to hear my own voice again. My voice when I speak to myself while I draw and paint, my voice talking to myself about the most sincere thing I have to offer to the world, but more importantly. What I have to offer myself.
How good to echo that sound in my head again! The sound you make when you hit the intent of that line, or the feeling of that color.

O resultado de tudo isso.
And the result of all this.

I decided it will not be this time that I will stop with all this drawing story! This blessed story of drawing wherever and whatever.
The truth is that I never drew for anyone, I never did it to please anyone.
I always did and I do for myself, for every second of endorphin released by my brain with every well-designed stroke.
And remember when I said at the beginning that I did not see much reason in things I was doing?
Screw the reason! It is not a matter of reason, it is a matter of feeling good. Feel good with what you do!
All the things you do do not look for the reason, look for the feeling of that moment ... Be alive inside and out!
If you've read this far ... Please never forget what I said. And remember the people you have around this phrase.

And a thank you, THANK YOU so much to every friend, relative, and urban sketcher who helped me feel good these bad moments and bothered to know how I was.

Instragran: @carlosmedeiros.arq

And since this page is about drawings, here are some things I did around while going through all this. Instragran: @ carlosmedeiros.arq

Viram? Meu braço está 95% bom de novo!
Os 5% procuro todos os dias. Esses 5% eu chamo de inspiração!
Não teria graça se eu estivesse sempre 100%   ;)
Did you see? My arm is 95% good again!
The 5% I search every day. Those 5% I call inspiration!
Would not it be funny if I was always 100%  ;)

Muito obrigado pela sua atenção.
Um grande abraço
Bons desenhos!

  8. Great story and beautiful watercolors!!! I am reminded of a friend of mine who drew and sold beautiful realistic colored pencil drawings of the birds he also photographed as his hobby after retiring. He had a massive stroke which permanently paralyzed his right side (his drawing arm). His wife had him drawing with his left hand while he was still in hospital. Now he is selling the drawings he does with his left hand!! But he does it ONLY for the love of drawing and the love of birds. For myself, I was run down while standing on a sidewalk by a drunk driver 2 years ago. Both my legs were broken and I could not walk for 3 months and I was in terrible pain. But I was doing watercolor sketches in the first 2 weeks of recovery which made me happy and distracted me from the pain. My right leg will probably always be about 90% but I go urban sketching just as before and I feel very lucky that I still can. Such accidents are really terrible but so much easier if we focus on what we CAN do NOW and not what we used to do with ease. You paint beautiful watercolors 100%!! Good luck with your continued recovery!
